Common Questions
-
The gold standard in autism therapy globally, DIRFloortime® is heavily researched and is a proven and effective treatment for autism and other developmental delays. While Behavioral Therapy, such as ABA, is common in the United States, DIRFloortime takes a different approach — focusing on the whole-child rather than specific behaviors and using a developmental, individualized approach to help people reach their highest social-emotional and intellectual potential. DIRFloortime® starts with what your child knows and loves, their favorite activities, using these as the canvas from which to incorporate techniques aimed at helping them achieve basic milestones, and building to increasingly complex reasoning and social interaction. For Allison and her daughter, Hannah, it’s been a game-changer. If you’re frustrated with behavioral therapy, it could be the answer you’ve been looking for.
-
MyPath does not directly bill insurance providers, but we do provide invoices for reimbursement purposes.
-
Because DIRFloortime® therapy is individualized to the unique needs and interests of each person, MyPath will work with you to determine the best location for your situation. Whether it be at home, your child’s school, or virtual, we’ll tailor the therapy and therapy environment to ensure the best setting for therapy sessions.
-
MyPath is on a mission to make DIRFloortime® therapy more accessible and available in the New York Metro area — and a big part of that is increasing the number of certified practitioners in the region. We work to connect you with the exact right courses and programs through ICDL to become DIRFloortime® Assistants (DIR101 and DIR102) and DIRFloortime® Professionals. So whether you’re a parent looking to gain the knowledge and skills to incorporate DIR techniques into your home life or a professional looking to expand your knowledge and pursue a career in DIRFloortime® therapy, you’ve come to the right place. Reach out via our contact form or email, and we’re happy to direct you to the best course for you.
-
Individuals with autism and their families deserve more than outdated, one-size-fits-all approaches. They deserve to be seen, heard, and supported as whole people. DIRFloortime® has been proven to drive meaningful growth in emotional, social, and cognitive domains, and it does so while honoring the dignity and individuality of the person. Through our work, we aim to replace stigma with celebration, fear with understanding, and isolation with community.
